- Review: Sunday 27th August - The King Charles, Poole Quay
- 29 August 2006
The Duo's second performance within three weeks at this excellent Poole venue proved a roaring success. Tinderbox - once again taking advantage of the beautiful acoustics to create a crisp, clear and sweet sound - delivered almost three hours of crowd pleasing tunes.
The music kicked off at 9pm with an opening rendition of the 1960's classic 'In The Early Morning Rain'. During the next three hours, the duo impressed the ever growing audience with covers and original tunes alike - highlights included 'Zombie' by The Cranberries, 'Hotel California' by The Eagles, 'I Don't Want To Talk About It' by Rod Stewart, 'Ruby Tuesday' by the Rolling Stones and popular Tinderbox originals 'Ordinary Day', 'Fallen' and 'Out On My Own'.
Having been scheduled to finish at 11.30 The crowd called for more and Tinderbox returned to the stage to belt out powerful performances of the Jose Gonzalez arrangement 'Heartbeats' and finally 'The Boxer' by Simon and garfunkel.
Other highlights of the evening included some half time entertainment by a heavily intoxicated polish 'sailor' - after about five minutes of rambling into the mic it became obvious that no song was to follow and the PA was discreetly switched off to leave the audience in peace as they awaiting the second half of the evening's official show.
Altogether another memorable evening in one of Dorset's finest live music venues. Tinderbox will be returning to The King Charles in the near future so please check back for updates.
