Klute has recently proved to be a reliable venue for diverse, original and talented acts.  Last night was no exception.  The house band for the evening were 'Numidian Wish' who played a haunting set (minus their lead guitarist).  It was a pleasure to hear this band concentrate on a minimalistic and mellow acoustic sound.

'The Wish' were followed by an excellent trio called '2 Boys and a Girl'.  One vocalist, two guitars and a particularly cool female bassist belted out a range of covers - including the Stereophonic's Maybe Tomorrow - with precision and soul.

Tinderbox knocked out some popular original tunes including 'Fallen' and 'Ordinary Day' as well as an enthusiastically received version of the Jose Gonzalez arrangement 'Heartbeats'.  This was the first time for the duo to perform this song live.

Other acts during the evening included the ever-special 'Farther', with Richard and Martin infusing their trademark harmonies with strong and well crafted original compositions, and a great acoustic performance by two members of 'Fearne'.  

A highlight was the surprise performance by Devils Music co-founder and guitar player Trevor, accompanying long time friend Katie - also on guitar - who provided a powerful vocal.  An energetic and crowd pleasing set climaxing with a great take on the Zutons recent hit 'Valerie'.

With DUMA winners 'The View' turning up later on in the evening this proved to be not only a night of top-class music but also a chance for friends to catch up and musicians to mingle.
