Latest News April/May 2013

April 28th, 2013

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped to organise the benefit concert for the Amelia-Grace Rainbow Fund at the Regent Centre in Christchuch on April 26th.

It was a magical evening and Mike Silver, Bob Burke and Pete Read were on top form.  Thanks to Lesley Cooke from the Christchurch Community Partnership and of course to Amelia’s parents Chantel and Karl for helping to make it happen.

There are busy times ahead with great festivals including Trinity Folk, Larmer Tree and Foxstock.  In addition to numerous headline shows we have support bookings inked in for the likes of 10cc legend and revered songwriter Graham Gouldman, 2013 BBC Folk Award winners Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, folk favourites Cathryn Craig & Brian Willoughby and 1980′s troubadour Hazel O’Connor.

Our next ‘mini-tour’ is booked for the end of October.  For more gig information please CLICK HERE.

A great summer ends with success in Germany!

September 3rd, 2012

Timeless and minimalistic” – NW Gutersloh
Dynamite duo!” – Gutersloher Volkszeitung
Beautiful folk fireworks” – Die Glocke

Tinderbox have had a busy summer season; performing at superb festivals including Ireby, Milton Keynes International, Wickham, Cornwall Folk and Foxstock.

The duo recently arrived back from Germany after a hugely successful show at the ‘Woche Der Kleinen Kunste’ festival in Gutersloh where they shared the bill with Joan Armatrading.  Joined onstage by Bob Burke (guitar/vocals) and Micky Tucker (Cajón) the evening was electric with an attentive 3,500+ audience.

The press reviews and feedback have been awesome and a German/European tour is being planned for 2013.
